Scope of the Conference
The conference will address the specific
issues and role of stainless steels in meeting the challenge
of the modern society, particularly in terms of sustainability.
Issues addressed will include the consequences of restricted
availability of specific alloying elements (leading to alloy
substitution), newly developed grades and the demand for modified
and innovative production routes. User concerns, including
improved performance in terms of welding, corrosion and forming,
will also be important. The conference will cover both fundamental
and applied aspects of stainless steels, in the following topics:
• Applications and service experience of SS
Health and Environment
Energy production
Marine environments
Desalination
Transportation
Architecture
Building and Construction
Oil and Gas
Pulp and Paper
• New trends in stainless steel metallurgy/production routes
